NSW: Howard hypocritical on family values v alcohol: Carr

SYDNEY, Feb 5 AAP - NSW Premier Bob Carr today accused Prime Minister John Howard of
hypocrisy for teaching about family values yet allowing easier access to alcohol for young
people under commonwealth law.

Mr Carr said the National Competition Policy, which could allow alcohol to be sold
in convenience stores and petrol stations, would make the market harder to regulate.

He said it also would increase the number of avenues for underage drinkers to acquire liquor.
